sustainability & regeneration in the Mezcal industry
Projectcabrón
projectCABRÓN IS OUR OWN LITTLE WAY OF ADDRESSING SOME OF THE ISSUES OF SUSTAINABILITY AND REGENERATION IN THE MEZCAL INDUSTRY. OUR INTENTION IS TO PLAY A ROLE IN CONTRIBUTING TOWARDS THE PROTECTION OF THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE AGAVE PLANT, SOIL HEALTH, RESPONSIBLE DISPOSAL OF MEZCAL WASTE PRODUCTS, ADDRESS WATER POLLUTION AND CARBON FOOTPRINT. ALL OF THIS GOES HAND IN HAND WITH OUR PROJECTS SUPPORTING MEZCAL PRODUCING COMMUNITIES IN MEXICO.
Since the early idea of El Cabrón we focused on three core pillars, Quality, Sustainability, Community. Officially launching in March 2023 we have now set in motion projectCABRÓN, WE ARE STRATEGICALLY COLLABORATING WITH SCIENTISTS, ENVIRONMENTALISTS, RESPONSIBLE PRODUCERS AND OTHER MEZCAL BRANDS TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE ABOVE MENTIONED MATTERS.
With over 200 species of Agave OUR INTENTION IS TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE REPLENISHMENT OF THIS THREATENED BIODIVERSITY BY PROMOTING AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES AND PRODUCTION METHODS THAT ARE MORE BENEFICIAL FOR ALL: THE SOIL, THE WATER, THE COMMUNITIES AND HUMANKIND AS A WHOLE.
Our amazing Tequilana spirit originates from Zacatecas, giving opportunities to producers beyond the overexploited Agave production region in Mexico. By doing this, we distance ourselves from endorsing unsustainable practices. It is crafted by a remarkable group of over 240 farmers from three distinct towns in Zacatecas. Led by the esteemed Maestro Mezcalero Don Lupe, they established their very own distillery to create their exceptional Tequilana Agave distillates. The impeccable quality of their production shines through in the delightful and fragrant flavor of this extraordinary spirit.
